A letter to our authors

Welcome to our first monthly newsletter.

Dear DigiBooks Authors, Partners and Friends, we are excited to launch this first edition of the monthly DigiBooks newsletter, and to open it with three launches: two law titles from Irene Chiaki Korley-Ayerteye, two books on growth and service from Charlotte Sarfowaa Akan-Duncan, and the second volume of the GAFICS series on outstanding Ghanaians.

Over the next few months, our focus as a business is clear. We will spread the word about your wonderful publications, in bookshops, libraries, online and as eBooks, and we will build a community of authors who support and champion one another.

Thank you for trusting us with your stories.

Principles of Contract Law in Ghana

422 pages

A clear, Ghana-focused guide to how contracts are formed, enforced and ended. It works through the core principles using Ghanaian cases and statute, so students, lecturers and practitioners can apply the law as it stands in our courts rather than borrowing from foreign textbooks.

International Trade and Investment Law from an African Perspective

501 pages

Africa's place in global trade and investment, set out in one volume. It covers the rules that govern cross-border trade and investment, the AfCFTA, and what they mean for African governments, businesses and the lawyers who advise them.

More than 900 pages of legal scholarship written from and for Africa, now heading to law faculties, libraries and chambers.

Living the Experience

GAFICS Series on Some Outstanding Ghanaians, Vol. 2

Too many of the Ghanaians who built our institutions, broke new ground in their professions and served their communities have left little written record behind. The Ghana Association of Former International Civil Servants (GAFICS) set out to change that.

GAFICS brings together Ghanaians who served with the United Nations and its agencies, the World Bank, the IMF, the African Development Bank and other international institutions. Its series documents the lives of outstanding Ghanaians so that they are never forgotten and their example inspires those who come after them.

Volume 1 told the stories of 19 pioneers, among them Robert Gardiner, Justice Annie Jiagge and Esther Ocloo. Volume 2 continues the work with a new set of remarkable lives, each a story of purpose, hard work and service.

A book for every school library, every family bookshelf and anyone who wants to know the people behind Ghana's story.

About the compilers

Both volumes were compiled for GAFICS by Eugenia Date-Bah, Agnes Akosua Aidoo and Barbara Opong. Volume 2 profiles women and men from across Ghana, including the Volta, Ahafo and Northern Regions, whose careers span foreign service, medicine, architecture, law, academia, the civil service, sports journalism and farming.

Among those featured are Hon. Justice Joyce Adeline Bamford-Addo, Mrs. Gloria Nikoi, Air Vice Marshal Napoleon Ashley-Lassen, Sir Kobina Arku Korsah and Justice Professor Samuel Kofi Date-Bah.

Mr. Fred Labi, founder of DigiBooks, on his 80th birthday

Join us in wishing Mr. Fred Labi a happy 80th birthday.

80 years · 1st October 2026

On 1st October our co-founder, Mr. Fred Labi, turned 80. The whole DigiBooks family joins his authors, friends and loved ones in giving thanks for his life.

In 2006 he founded DigiBooks with his wife, Mrs. Ama Labi, with a simple conviction: Ghanaian knowledge and Ghanaian stories deserve to be published to the highest standard, here at home. For two decades he has championed academic, scholarly, literary and biographical works, giving countless authors the confidence and the platform to put their ideas into print.

His dedication to literary work in Ghana is the foundation everything in this newsletter stands on. As a new generation leads DigiBooks, we carry his vision forward.

“Even when I am old and gray… let me declare Your power to the next generation.”Psalm 71:18

Happy birthday, Mr. Labi. Ayekoo, and thank you.
